“People are scared to step out of their comfort zones.”

“I was always that one friend who liked playing with makeup. I remember when I was younger, I was really fascinated with girls who would completely remove their eyebrows and would draw them in, and so I did the same! Then I started wearing eyeliner and lip liner, funny, I know, but that was the thing back then. I didn’t really start to take it seriously until I noticed everyone would always ask me to do their makeup, and I noticed that I actually enjoyed doing it.

It wasn’t until 2 years later that my husband gifted me with paying for my Beauty/ Makeup course as a birthday present to me. That was when I decided that was what I wanted to do as a career not just a hobby. I had been doing makeup here and there before that, so I pretty much self-taught myself, but I wanted to go to school to get certified. I was pregnant at the time and let me tell you it was so hard for me to do it. That morning sickness made my school process so hard. Not the work, just me being there. I also had no car at the time, and my school was not close by. We lived in Lake Elsinore and my campus was in Anaheim, so my Husband would drop me off Fridays at my moms and would pick me up on Sunday evenings. My mom and brother helped me out a lot. They lived 10 mins away from my school and would give me rides every weekend back and forth. I did it, I completed my work and got certified. I even competed on our runway competition show being 8 months pregnant.”

“If I had to choose a favorite type of Makeup style or to do it would be hard to be honest. I love Halloween looks, SFX makeup, I feel like I can get more creative with it, but I also like beauty makeup. The only thing with beauty makeup is that it’s always the same. People are scared to step out of their comfort zones and don’t let me use other beautiful colors, other than browns. I like when clients trust me enough to do a certain style of eye look but let me get creative with other colors on them. I feel like that’s something all artists can relate on.

I’ve been doing this for almost six years now, and I feel like there’s always more to learn in this industry, more room to grow. I can see myself doing great things in the future, hopefully one day working for celebrities or even on movie sets, I hope. It’s not bad to dream, but you also need to work hard for your dreams and goals. I am very passionate about what I do. I can’t see myself doing anything else, to be honest.”

“Some of my biggest inspirations when I first started were Patrick Ta, Alyssa Marie, Patrickstarrr, Jenny69, Kandee Johnson, Ve Neil, Kat Von D, Ourfazinali  just to name a few, at the moment my biggest inspirations are Sidney Cumbie, Lora Arellano, Jenny69 and Annette69, Britt Bruttal, Michael Westmore, Tara Buenrostro. Just to see how far these people have gone throughout the years is amazing. They inspire me so much it helps me push myself on my bad days.”

We’d like to extend a huge thanks to this beautiful girl for not only sharing her story with us, but for her hard work during our shoot. Make sure to follow her on Instagram and show her some love!
